From the desk of the Principal

Prof. Mehmooda Begam

It affords me the greatest pleasure to be part of this institute, which has earned its own niche across the Unani world over a short span of 24 years. It is an undeniable fact that there is a historic and monumental role of Unani medicine in the transmission of medical sciences through the ages until the rise of modern medicine. Even today, playing the role of Unani medicine is immensely needed and hoped for more than ever, given the health challenges facing the world in general and India in particular.

Nowadays, there has been an upsurge in non-communicable and lifestyle diseases across the globe, and nonavailability of the safe and effective treatment options in conventional medicine has further added to the misery of the ailing population. In this scenario, there is a great opportunity for the Unani system of medicine to fill this void by employing time-tested, safer, preventive and curative approaches through natural medicines and various procedure-based therapies. The regimenal therapies of the system (ILAJ BIT TADBEER) across the nation are satisfyingly proving to be a boon for the patients suffering from such problems.

This college can duly pride itself on having exceptional, committed, dedicated faculty members of many talents, who have the potential to contribute to the healthcare system in the hope of making this world a better place to live. Our college has always been at the forefront of providing the best facilities to its students from an academic perspective. Still, also there are continuous efforts to facilitate their overall growth.

We continue to serve the nation through quality teaching and research through the production of knowledgeable, competent and skilled Unani graduates, who can provide safe and effective healthcare delivery both at home and abroad. I look forward to the continued support of each member of H.S.Z.H. Government Unani Medical College and hospital complex so that we, as a team, can live up to the expectations of our nation.

Best wishes
