Hakim Syed Zia ul Hasan (HSZH) Unani Medical College, Bhopal, is the only Govt. (autonomous) Unani College established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in 1998. Presently, the annual intake capacity of the students is 60 at the undergraduate level with well equipped 100 bedded hospital in which pathology lab., sonography, X-ray, and ECG facilities are available all the time. P.G courses (M. D. or Mahir-e-Tib ) has been started in three departments namely Amraz-e-Jild wa Tazeeniyatand, Ilaj bit Tadbeer and Tahffuzi wa Samaji Tib.
The vision of this college is to impart Unani
Medical sciences at UG and PG level of national
competence without making compromises on
Unani principles and identities, and to provide
affordable Unani healthcare facilities to all the
sections of the society.
The Govt of Madhya Pradesh and the college administration have set
themselves specific aims and objectives to be achieved by setting up this
college. For their attainment, the college has been working towards them
since its inception in 1998. Some of the aims and objectives are as follows:
1. The primary aim and objective of this Unani medical college is to
propagate and popularize the Unani system of medicine and Unani way of
health-consciousness in the state by training students and providing the
treatment to the public on Unani principles and concepts.
2. Enhancement of educational standards in Unani system of medicine by
making the most of modern advances in medical field without
compromising on Unani principles.
3. Training and grooming of students, scholars, physicians and researchers
with the intention of making them competent and efficient enough so that
they can meet the serious health challenges of the country in general and
the state in particular.
4. Alleviation of human sufferings in regard to health problems by providing
holistic health care to the public, especially poor people of the state.
